All I know is that there is no HTTP Foundation, no FTP Foundation, no
SMTP Foundation, etc. There are no companies that use these names. My
understanding is that the IETF does not take kindly to organizations
that attempt to reuse names of its protocols. I really think that any
change of the name to something including XMPP is off the table.

Though XMPP Technology Consortium (XTC) is kinda catchy. :P
