And is that a good thing or a bad thing ? In the past it was said that
jabber.org was never a server intended for mainstream use. Although many people
register with it (because of the name), jabber.org always had trouble to deliver
decent uptimes before. I don't know if this still holds, but i got
complaints about it again.

I think it is a bad idea altogether to promote 1 central server, in a protocol 
aimed at distribution. Instead, we should try our best to distribute
users over a set of good servers.
