Here's an idea. Tighter integration of XMPP/Jabber with PHP or some web
scripting/programming language. There's class.jabber.php but it requires
a new connection to the server for each use. I'm thinking something
along the lines of PHP's database APIs with persistent connections, at
least one connection per web server. This would allow the web server to
send messages, get presence, etc. without having to reconnect every
time. I'll leave it to the implementor on how to solve the problem with
reception of information (id attributes?).

I'm befuddled. (should probably look that up :-) )
