Having one in Europe and one in North America is the way to go.
I think we would need to define the target frequency (target = when the
process will work at full speed).
I suspect that having two conferences per year might be too much at
first. I would rather have one biggest event once a year.
We would also need to clarify the relation of this event with interop
meetings. Maybe interop meeting could be a "subtopic" of developer
conferences ? I think it would make sense.
Regarding organisation, as you take your part to help make the Portland
event be a success, I have proposed Peter Saint-Andre to help on
organising an event in Europe. I have started thinking about convenient
places to hold an event.
