Peter have you thought about the asterisk method?
Generally Digium will buy a rather large space at some of the larger conferences. We would take the center space, and then would fill the rest of the booth with other asterisk users from the community, people who make products based on and using asterisk, as well as service providers etc. Not only does it give us a strong presence at these conferences, I think our booth at the last few has been bigger than the microsoft booth ^_^. Just a thought.

Booths are a *lot* of work. We had a booth a few years ago at OSCON and
I vowed never to do that again. But presentations are much cheaper, I
think easier to make happen, and almost as productive as a booth (more
productive if you look at "leads" vs. time and effort).
