[Members] XSF as a mentor in Summer of Code 2007?

There was a bit of discussion about this at the weekend, particularly  
about limiting the number of suggestions to a small number of  
'official' projects which could most advance the state of Jabber,  
only accepting other projects if they were exceptional - I quite like  
this idea, but what do other people think?
