Interesting point. I already feel that the existence of jabber.org addresses
is confusing ("jabber" is a protocol and a service?), and so I should
probably feel the same way about xmpp.org addresses. Though, at least the
latter would not be given out freely.
(/me still wants to rename jabber.org)
