Hmmm... I also tried to add your aol account but did not get an answer
from you (did not check the XML stream but got maybe an error like you;
I was eating breakfast in same time). So as you told us to try and add
your aol account, no answer means that you probably did not receive my
request. :-/
So that's probably not just your administration skills (or that's both
ours!).

BUT all hope is not lost. That may just be a bug on AIM side as it is
probably a very early implementation (maybe it works against Gtalk
server because they tested for and with it in priority, not in a very
generic way with the spec. That's bad development practive, ok but
that's a start for a company like AOL).
OR they actually accepts connection from gtalk only, for now, but will
open later.

I mean, I keep hope because of this simple very silly SRV record. Why
would they even advertize a xmpp-server by DNS SRV if they were meant to
be used as a Google/AOL collaboration only?
Couldn't the XSF officially contact AOL to get information?
