It sounds nice, but at the same time I don't really want yet another JID to deal with. I'd just register my xmpp.org JID and add it to my collection and keep using my main one.

Does it really buy us anything? Our existing JIDs already federate, and as an org most chats happen via the MUCs and not one-to-one. 

If anything, we could add a user search component to xmpp.org to find the JIDs of current XSF members.

I'm still open to the idea, but I'm not keen on it yet.
