Is so any other appropriate response than sending an open letter saying
"hey google, if you have any technical arguments why xmpp sucks let us
hear'em"?
Mind you, google is not arguing from a position of strength given the
mess they had before WRT to chats. Launching this without webrtc support
seems premature, too, and might even jeopardize their standardization
efforts.
Failing to implement XMPP to full capacity and getting involved in the
SDO process hardly puts them in the position to make "hangouts" an open
standard either.
5$ on google not succeding this time either. Any takers?
Other than that I think there is enough work to do. This move from
google has absolutely motivated me to pursue the webrtc/jingle stuff
further.
