Hi from 35c3!

The XMPP assembly organized a meetup[0] (self-organized session)
yesterday 28th at CCC. Thanks all for attending and thanks for sharing
your experiences and concerns. I didn't count but I hear about 40 people
joined us.

This event was more of a free form Q&A session with a big number of XMPP
users, and service operators.

I apologize for not having any kind of minutes, I was trying to take
part in the discussions. Concerns raised during this meeting are
definitely not unfamiliar to me or I think other developers.

Questions ranged from general advice on server configuration, feature
support in clients, and E2EE in particular, to user-onboarding
discussions.

Topics like <moved/>, and Portable Import/Export Format were also
mentioned. There seemed to be some interest in being able to migrate
easily from one server to another.

We also talked about sprints, saying that we encourage people to come
and participate, and/or organize sprints if they are able to. We also
announced the Brussels UX sprint[1] that will happen right before the
XMPP Summit.

Concerning the format of the meetup, something I might like to see next
time is starting by setting some context, presenting ourselves, and
redirecting people with specific setup questions to the XMPP assembly
right from the start.

In general I am happy with the meetup and I hope to be able to host more
of these in the future. We got lots of people to visit us to discuss at
the assemblee. Please keep coming, your feedback is very valuable.

Cheers,
