[standards-jig] another pubsub/disco question

I would say that nodes seem to have been created independent of any
individual protocol. disco deals with features that a node has. And
pubsub is a function which nodes may have. Are there any other protocols
utilizing the node concept?

So it seems to me, that nodes need to be clearly defined. Or at least as
clear as an entity is. Or is the definition of a node simply a
non-addressable jabber entity?
