I think Richard suggested a very good solution.
We could develop a separate protocol for requesting images via IBB.
Something like: jibi://email@example.com/imgidentifier.png
Client should cache these images at least for the session time
(I think it would cache it forever for later usage as clipart gallery
for own messages :-)
When an in-band image is linked in <img/> tag, client should check if it
has the image in local storage and if not get it via IBB.
