What is AlphaNumeric character? ASCII [0-9a-zA-Z] or any Unicode letter
or number?  Why one should be not allowed to use JIDs as NodeID (that
would be very usefull sometimes)?

Why? In many situtation an opaque identifier is enough, and much more
usefull.
