Send a subscription request first? Do one of the most annoying things
that may happen?

For me and many of my friends, a subscription request from "nowhere" is
one of the most annoying things in the IM world. And it's really
regretable that so many clients require their users to add a contact to
roster (which in these implementations means also asking for
subscription) to send a message.

I really won't be happy if new protocol encourages people to ask for
subscription just to send a message.
