  Aye, this would be fine, at least within the spec. I was more mentioning
that the JEP may want to document if we expect it to be normal for this to
happen.

Maybe I am mis-interpreting the post, but I would stick to using only

  But, doesn't an offline presence message infer a BYE?  ;-)
