We've been defining some of these best practices in JEPs so that we can
come to agreement on the concepts. Once rfc3920bis is farther along, we
will fold these best practices into that document, but we probably won't
change the status of the relevant JEPs to Obsolete until the official
RFCs are published (that might be in 2007 sometime).
