I agree. We have gotten some heat in goverment circles about the draft status of xep45 and its dependencies.

I assume if we make a xep final that all of its dependencies must be final?

How are going to make changes to a final xep in the future? Would it be a number like they do in ietf? Personnally I thank that is confusing.

Subject: [Standards] Draft to Final

I think that we need to push more specs from Draft to Final. This will
require multiple implementations and some interop testing (preferably
via the online interop network <http://www.xmpp.org/interop> -- more on
that soon).

Here are some candidates for consideration in the next 6 months:

XEP-0012: Last Activity
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0012.html

XEP-0066: Out of Band Data
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0066.html

XEP-0080: User Location
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0080.html

XEP-0085: Chat State Notifications
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0085.html

XEP-0107: User Mood
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0107.html

XEP-0108: User Activity
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0108.html

XEP-0118: User Tune
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0118.html

XEP-0131: Stanza Headers and Internet Metadata
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0131.html

XEP-0138: Stream Compression
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0138.html

XEP-0199: XMPP Ping
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0199.html

XEP-0202: Entity Time
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0202.html

Here are some candidates for consideration in the next 12 months:

XEP-0016: Privacy Lists
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0016.html

XEP-0045: Multi-User Chat
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0045.html

XEP-0060: Publish-Subscribe
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0060.html

XEP-0115: Entity Capabilities
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0115.html

XEP-0174: Link-Local Messaging
          http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0174.html

Thoughts?
