Subject: [Council] meeting minutes, 2007-11-21
Results of the XMPP Council meeting held 2007-11-21...
0. Roll call
Present: Dave Cridland, Ralph Meijer, Peter Saint-Andre, Kevin Smith.
Absent: Ian Paterson.
1. Agenda bashing
2. Next meeting.
To be scheduled on the Council list.
3. XEP-0045: Multi-User Chat
Approve version 1.23pre3?
Dave expressed concern that the ldapgroup extended data field is
underspecified. Peter agreed. Dave will consult with some LDAP experts
on the matter.
Kevin and Ralph expressed concerns about the need for and definition of
the "outsider" role. This was introduced to help address the use cases
in <http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/inbox/communities.html>. Further
review is needed.
4. XEP-0100: Gateway Interaction
Approve version 1.1pre3?
Kevin noted that he is dissatisfied with the roster synchronization
methods in XEP-0100, and that perhaps it would be better to use a
communities specification for this (where the end user has a "personal
community" and is the admin thereof). No one else voted during the meeting.
5. XEP-0155: Stanza Session Negotiation
Approve version 1.2pre1?
Dave, Ralph, Peter, and Kevin +1. Ian to vote on the list.
Last Call on the Jingle specifications, i.e.:
XEP-0167: Jingle Audio via RTP
XEP-0168: Resource Application Priority
XEP-0176: Jingle ICE Transport
XEP-0177: Jingle Raw UDP Transport
XEP-0180: Jingle Video via RTP
XEP-0181: Jingle DTMF
XEP-0208: Bootstrapping Implementation of Jingle
Dave, Ralph, Peter, and Kevin +1. Peter to issue Last Call, with
extended time period to enable thorough review. Dave and Peter to
request reviews from those who know SIP, as well as from Jingle
implementors. Peter to finish first draft of Jingle<->SIP mapping
specification (to be submitted as an Internet-Draft).
14. XEP-0115: Entity Capabilities
Dave objected to removal of hash attribute and hardcoding to SHA-1,
since that is not future-proof. Peter agreed that this needs to be included.
15. FOSDEM preparations.
Ralph and Peter to coordinate.
16. Any other business.
