I can see the motivation here and probably the reasons
you give outweigh the risks. One risk that comes to mind is having bad actors avoid people
realising who they are when they join.
Given that most people use nicknames in the MUCs and there is no
requirement to use real names on the lists, I don't see a fundamental
change if we lift this restriction.
