You don't want to give away your Jabber ID and password. There are other
mechanisms that can be used (enter your Jabber ID on the website, service
requests authorization on Jabber, you grant it; service password
generation can be dealt with with some simple solution).

However, this whole kind sounds like an application for the PubSub
framework to me (http://www.jabber.org/jeps/jep-0060.html).
